AdamEve I - First Breath
The first piece in this series conveys the moment of the first breath, the moment when the matter/energy field of Eden expresses itself in human forms.
My hope for the entire suite is to examine the creation myth of Eden to see how it may have led to the pervasive sense that human beings are separate from the rest of the planet's biosphere, that is, "on" the earth rather than "of" the earth. I choose to show man and woman created together equally, so the aspects of the myth which relate to issues of patriarchy are not addressed.

The sketchy linear elements of bronze wool, copper wire and welding rod represent the active energy field; the passage of energy within, without and between the figures and their surroundings. The heads are open and at first insensate. As the suite progresses the features will resolve as senses are added in turn
